Our panelists will use specific case studies to discuss the legal frameworks regulating speech and analyze practical realities of criminalizing critical speech across the region. Speakers will include Deina Abdelkader, Visiting Scholar at the Harvard Center for Middle Eastern Studies; Salma Waheedi, Lecturer on Law and Associate Director of the Program on Law and Society in the Muslim World; and Hamza Sebti, LLM ’19.
