The HLS Christian Fellowship, Jewish Law Students Association, Muslim Law Students Association, Catholic Law Students Association, and Latter-Day Saints Student Association are hosting the 2nd Annual Harvard Law School Interfaith Conference on “Forgiveness and the Law.” The conference will run from 12-5 PM on Friday, March 27 in Milstein East B in Wasserstein Hall at Harvard Law School. There is no official conference registration—come for as much of the day as you can! Lunch and snacks will be served throughout the day. Click here for the program.
Among the panels will be “Restorative Justice and Alternative Punishment.” Restorative justice emphasizes repairing the harm caused by illegal behavior through cooperative processes that include all stakeholders. The goal is to create deep and lasting solutions by focusing on restitution, reconciliation, restoration, and the collective future. This panel hopes to shed light on religion-based efforts to solve problems in communities through justice circles, alternative punishment, debt forgiveness, prison ministry, and sentencing reforms. Panelists include ILSP Director, Professor Intisar Rabb.
